This sweet ‘lil gal is all about getting and giving lots and lots of LOVE!

Rosie Marie is a 4 year old Chihuahua with a cute underbite as you can see! She weighs about 15 pounds or so and of course won’t get any bigger (unless she gets way too many treats hahaha!)

Rosie walks very well on a leash and gets along great with other dogs. She loves everyone! She is crate trained and working on housetraining. One of Rosie’s very favorite things to do is to lay in the backyard in the sun!

Rosie will do best in a quieter environment – kids should be older than 8 years old as she isn’t really used to or comfortable with the activity levels of young children.

Rosie Marie is heartworm positive – but don’t let that stop you from adopting this sweetpea! She is being treated with what is called the slow-kill method. It is a 30 day antibiotic regimen followed by a specific heartworm prevention every two weeks. It is less invasive and less costly than the injection method which can be quite painful and requires 30 days of crating between two injections to kill the heartworms. The NC State Vet School recommends this as an alternative to the traditional heartworm treatment.

Rosie has been spayed and is up to date with her vaccinations. Because she is heartworm postive, we are not assessing our regular adoption fee of $250. Instead – there is no adoption fee at all, and we will provide all medicines and a year’s supply of heartworm preventative. In return, we ask for a tax deductible donation of your choosing.
